Job Title: Travel Medical Assistant
Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and adaptable Travel Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team on a temporary basis. In this role, you will provide essential clinical and administrative support across various healthcare facilities, helping to deliver high-quality patient care. As a traveling Medical Assistant, you will have the opportunity to explore different locations while utilizing your skills in diverse clinical settings.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care: Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and providing direct support during treatments.
Medical History: Gather and document patients’ medical histories, current medications, and allergy information, ensuring accurate and complete records for each patient.
Administrative Tasks: Perform essential administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and processing insurance information and billing.
Laboratory Support: Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, perform basic lab tests, and ensure proper documentation and handling of results.
Patient Education: Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care, ensuring they understand their health needs and instructions.
Compliance: Follow safety and infection control protocols, maintaining a clean and organized workspace while ensuring patient confidentiality.
Flexibility: Adapt to varying work environments and clinical practices across different healthcare facilities, quickly integrating into new teams and workflows.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited medical assistant training program is preferred.
Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential preferred but not required.
Experience: Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred, with a willingness to adapt to different practices and environments.
Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting.
Technical Skills: Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic medical software.
