excessive floating
Acuity in ICU isn't bad. However if you are not a fan of floating every shift you're scheduled and sometimes twice your shift by getting a new set of patients (in medsurge with 4-5 patients) as an ICU nurse, then maybe this place is for you. I do not mind floating but I feel the floating here is excessive and should be illegal. Not only do they float you so much, when they float you, they are SUPER unorganized. ICU unit is no problem at all (although don't expect to be their so much, for 3 months, probable saw ICU for 3 or 4 shift only), the problem starts when you float to the medsurge floor. expect to get all the strokes in tele because most of the time no one is NIH certified. As in any other hospital there would be good and not so good PCA/CNA that help out in the tele/medsurge which makes floating there as well horrible. The floors have really bad moral and AMN's not very understanding of assignments. Too many falls have happened in tele/medsurge due to staff issues and how they do their assignments.
