24-04-2023 Don’t walk, run

Adequate supplies, clean facility, 1:4 ratio. Lack of a manager and supervision is the units downfall; allowing gossip culture to run the unit. Facility allowed a tech to curse me out in front of a patient during an admission, and ultimately cancelled my contract without notice nor opportunity for mediation due to objectively misinformed complaints on behalf of the tech regarding RN related patient care. Staff also demonstrated an inability to de-escalate patient danger to self/others scenario by arguing and degrading a patient experiencing altered mental status, as well as safe placement and de-escalation of restraints, causing staff injury unnecessarily. Would not recommend to travelers until there is reports of more training and the charge nurses themselves aren’t brand new contracted staff members.

Appears to be a nice facility, clean and with adequate supplies etc. ED staff is not friendly to travelers. Patient assignments are not even. Travelers often given less acute patients and difficult patients while staff nurses sit at desk and wait for trauma patients or more interesting cases. Manager did not give shift that contract was for but switched to full time nights.
