Registered Nurse - StaffI started here as a new grad, worked 2019-2021. Worst run hospital I've ever seen. I would have up to 12 patients (combative psych, intubated ICU holds, unstable traumas, hold patients). 'Team nursing' so there is no set assignment, you have patients all over the department. Management is terrible. HCA so money > profit. They will continue auto-accepting trauma transfers from hospitals up to 3 hours away even if there are no more beds available upstairs and the ED nurses are 1:10+ ratios. No triage so they immediate bed patients even if there are no hall beds or rooms left; I've had patients sit in plastic chairs in the hallway. If patients are in the waiting room for more than 15 minutes the higher ups will question why they are not pulled back in the department; no beds is an unacceptable answer. They will come down and make room.Kaitlyn, ED Portsmouth NH
RNMore hallway beds then rooms. Night-shift staff are expected to have an average of 13 patients at a time. 40-60% of all patients in the ER are holding patients. Transfers rarely turned off and the waiting room is not utilized, so there is no triage nurse and if there is no room then they make room. Nurses I worked with were amazing hard workers despite the expectations placed on them. When I brought my concerns for patient safety to the director, I was reprimanded for my lack of charting and told "If you can't handle it then leave." 2022.Colleen, ER
This is the worst place I’ve ever worked by a mile. Travel nurses are expected to take 8 ER patients, and they don’t assign rooms or zones, so a nurse’s patients are scattered throughout the department. Night Shift occasionally had 16 patients each. There are free-standing clinics, but they are operated almost solely by travelers. I was asked to charge nurse in one of the clinics my very first day there. Patient care is extremely unsafe, and I became concerned about my license and my mental health working there. Do NOT go there.Lauren, ER Rn Emergency Department
