Dr. Kavitha Reddy, Executive sponsor of CWO, Ms. Jana Boehmer, Co-Lead of CWO, and Ms. Mary Gallagher-Seaman, Co-Lead of CWO, will lead our discussion on tips and advice for managing clinician burnout, and how to prevent stress at the point of care. Kavitha Reddy, MD, FACEP, ABOIM
Emergency Medicine Physician, Associate Director of Employee Whole Health·Veterans Affairs St. Louis Healthcare System
Dr. Kavitha Reddy trained at University of Missouri in Kansas City, receiving her BLA and MD from that institution in 2000. She completed her residency in emergency medicine at University of Illinois in Chicago in 2003 and is certified through the American Board of Emergency Medicine. She is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. She graduated from the University of Arizona Integrative Medicine Fellowship in 2014 and is board certified through the American Board of Integrative Medicine. Kavitha Reddy is currently an emergency medicine physician at VA St. Louis Healthcare System in Missouri. She has received several awards for excellence in teaching medical students and residents. She served as the Whole Health System Clinical Director at the VA St. Louis Healthcare System. She is an Assistant Professor in Emergency Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the Washington University School of Medicine. She is the Principal Investigator at the St. Louis enrollment site for the national multi-site NIH-funded wHOPE trial. She is the Associate Director of Employee Whole Health for VHA OPCC & CT. She is a Member-At-Large on the Board of Directors for the Academic Consortium of Integrative Medicine and Health since May of 2022. Her personal interests include hiking, biking, travel, reading, music, and spending time with friends and family.
Jana Boehmer, MSM, RD/N
Registered Dietitian/ Nutritionist & Employee Wellness Coordinator·James A. Haley VA Hospital and Clinics
Jana Boehmer is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist. She is currently the Employee Wellness Coordinator at the James A. Haley VA Hospital and Clinics as well as a Clinical Champion for Employee Whole Health in the VHA Office of Patient Centered Care and Cultural Transformation (OPCC&CT). Her primary focuses is the Co-Lead of the Chief Well-Being Officer Program as well as a co-lead of a VHA Reducing Employee Burnout and Optimizing Organizational Thriving (REBOOT) Task Force Implementation Team Work Stream. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and her Masters degree in Management from the University of South Florida. She has worked for the VHA for 17 years in a variety of Nutrition roles including Chief of Nutrition and Food Services before following her passion to focus on the health and well-being of the employees.
Mary Gallahger-Seaman, RN
RN Whole Health Consultant·Veterans Health Administration
Mary Gallagher-Seaman is a Registered Nurse Whole Health consultant working on the Employee Whole Health team within the Veterans Health Administration’s Employee Whole Health team. Mary joined VA in 2005 and has held progressive leadership roles in nursing. She established a shared governance model at VA Hudson Valley (NY) Healthcare System and is a recipient of the United States Under Secretary for Health’s Award for Innovation in the Department of Veterans Affairs Community Living Centers (individual award) as well as the New York City Federal Executive Board (group award). Mary has been an RN for more than 30 years and maintains ANCC certification in both Gerentologic Nursing and as a Nurse Executive. She currently serves as a co-lead of the Chief Well-being Officer (CWO) program among other responsibilities. Her proudest accomplishment is her role as wife and mother to three adult children, one whom is a Marine Veteran and current reservist.
