Contract Travel Nurse – Hospice

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Hospice Nurse for a contract travel position. This role involves providing high-quality end-of-life care to patients, ensuring comfort and dignity during their final stages. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to patient care and adept at handling the unique challenges of hospice settings. Job Description ● Direct Patient Care: Deliver compassionate care to patients in hospice settings, ensuring their comfort and dignity. ● Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the healthcare provider. ● Monitoring: Regularly assess and monitor patient conditions, promptly reporting any changes to the healthcare team. ● Pain and Symptom Management: Assist with managing pain and controlling symptoms to enhance patient comfort. ● Patient and Family Education: Educate patients and their families about end-of-life care options and processes. ● Care Planning: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. Specialty Hospice Care Skills and Qualifications ● Catheterization Procedures: Proficient in performing catheterization and managing related care. ● Home and Ostomy Care: Experienced in providing home care and managing ostomy needs. ● Alimentation Methods: Knowledgeable about various alimentation methods for patient nutrition. ● Emergency Handling: Ability to effectively manage and respond to emergency situations. ● IV Insertion: Competent in IV insertion techniques and related care. ● Community Care Practices: Familiarity with practices related to home and community care. ● Cardiac Catheterization: Understanding of cardiac catheterization procedures. ● BLS Certification: Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS). ● Triage Protocols: Skilled in triage protocols and decision-making in urgent situations. Qualifications and Requirements ● Experience: 1-year prior experience in hospice or end-of-life care is required. ● License: Active RN license in relevant state(s) or compact license. ● Certifications: BLS required; additional certifications may be advantageous.
