Facility Details:
– Drivers Only
– COVID policy: Must be fully vaccinated to start, but will accept medical or religious exemption
– 25 Bed Critical Access Hospital (inpatient and outpatients— (Chest pain, dehydration, gastroenteritis, pneumonia, COVID, CHF, COPD, UTI, etc.) with a Swing bed (short and long term swing beds).
– We are looking for staff that will work ER and Med/Surg. Floating between the two areas.
– They would help out with OP-treatment patients (blood transfusion, IV infusions-antibiotics, immunoglobulins, etc., dressing changes, injections, etc.)
– We also care for Covid patients in ER as well as inpatients on the nursing floor.
– Our ER averages about 6 patients/day. We are a level 5 Trauma Center. Patients would include Stroke, Cardiac, Trauma, as well as other minor and moderate ER patient needs.
– They also would help in Central Supply area with stocking supplies, etc., if needed.
Orientation:
– 36hrs, 13wks
– Orientation on Wednesdays
Unit Details:
– BLS, ACLS, TNCC required. NIHSS preferred
– 2+ years of ER experience required
– MS experience required
– RN would work as ER/MS FLOAT
– We are a critical access hospital so are looking for individuals who are familiar with critical access hospitals, and have good time management skills, work well under pressure, and have at least one year of experience in med-surg
– We would utilize them on the floor, as charge, and possibly in our ER as well.
Their duties would be med surge charge nurse, staff nursing with long-term care, staff nursing with acute and snf patients, treatment room patients, as well as possibly covering some ER shifts.
– 4 beds with 2 overflow
– Will see stroke, chest pain, traumas, COVID, pneumonia, injuries, laceration repairs, UTIs, etc
– High elderly populated area
– We rotate weekends, every other or every third depending on staffing. Every other holiday, and we also rotate between days and nights. Nights are usually just to fill the need if we have one of our dedicated night shifters on vacation.
– EMR is Centriq (CPSI)
– Scrubs: any color
**I want them to be aware that there is no set assignment to one specific area. Everyone works in all areas here. After orientation we do self scheduling, but we are already scheduling into March currently, so they will be filling in the gaps, but will have the opportunity to self schedule once they're here and trained and our voids are filled
