Home Health Aide – Home Health Aide

A Home Health Aide (HHA) provides essential personal care and support services to patients in their homes under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or other healthcare professionals. HHAs assist individuals with daily living activities, monitor health conditions, and ensure the patient’s comfort and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist patients with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Provide mobility support, including transferring patients from beds to wheelchairs.
Monitor and report changes in the patient’s health, behavior, or condition to nurses or healthcare providers.
Administer basic healthcare services, such as checking vital signs (e.g., pulse, temperature, respiration).
Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring proper nutrition and hydration.
Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry, changing linens, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Provide companionship and emotional support to patients.
Assist with medication reminders (under supervision, if allowed by state regulations).
Follow care plans as directed by nurses or physicians.
Qualifications & Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Completion of a state-approved Home Health Aide training program.
Certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) (depending on state requirements).
CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
Ability to lift and assist patients with mobility.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Compassionate, patient, and detail-oriented.
Reliable transportation for travel to patients’ homes (if required).
Work Environment:
Home-based care settings.
May involve travel to multiple patient locations.
Flexible schedules, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, depending on patient needs.
