A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Correction job description typically includes the following responsibilities:
Providing direct patient care in a correctional facility
Administering medications and monitoring patients’ responses
Taking vital signs and performing basic health assessments
Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
Documenting patient progress and communicating with physicians and other healthcare professionals
Ensuring a clean and safe patient environment
Maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment
Following all policies and procedures related to security and control in a correctional facility
Providing education and resources to inmates to promote health and wellness.
The job requires a license as a Licensed Practical Nurse and often requires 1-2 years of previous experience in a healthcare setting, as well as experience in a correctional facility setting. Strong communication, organizational, and clinical skills, as well as the ability to work in a secure environment, are also important.
This is a not full time but contracted travel position.
