Mammography Technologist (Traveler) Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mammography Technologist (Mammo Tech) to join our team as a traveler, providing high-quality imaging services across multiple healthcare facilities. As a traveling Mammo Tech, you will perform mammograms and other breast imaging procedures, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and diagnostic accuracy. This role requires technical expertise, adaptability, and the ability to deliver exceptional care in diverse settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Imaging Procedures: Perform mammograms and other breast imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols, ensuring clear and accurate images for diagnostic purposes.
Patient Preparation and Care: Educate patients on procedures, answer questions, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the imaging process.
Quality Control: Follow quality assurance protocols, regularly calibrate and maintain equipment, and adhere to safety standards, including radiation safety.
Documentation: Accurately record patient information, images, and notes in the electronic health records (EHR) and picture archiving and communication system (PACS).
Collaboration: Work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to review images and discuss findings as needed.
Adaptability: Efficiently adjust to various facility protocols, equipment, and scheduling needs while maintaining high standards of patient care.
Skills & Qualifications:
Proficiency in mammography and related imaging techniques, with a strong understanding of breast anatomy and pathology.
Excellent interpersonal skills to provide compassionate care and communicate effectively with patients.
Knowledge of safety and quality control standards, including radiation safety practices.
Ability to adapt to different clinical environments and equipment as a traveling technologist.
Education & Experience:
Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Mammography.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Mammography Technologist in a clinical setting.
Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, adjusting to different facility protocols and environments.
