Job Description: Mammography Technologist (Mammo Tech)

Position Overview

TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is seeking a Mammography Technologist (Mammo Tech) for travel assignments in various healthcare facilities. The Mammo Tech will be responsible for performing high-quality mammograms, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining imaging equipment. This role requires technical proficiency, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms following ACR and FDA guidelines.
• Prepare patients by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort.
• Position patients properly for accurate imaging and minimal radiation exposure.
• Ensure image quality and proper documentation for physician review.
• Maintain and operate mammography equipment, troubleshooting as needed.
• Follow infection control and radiation safety protocols.
• Work closely with radiologists and healthcare teams.
• Maintain compliance with MQSA, ACR, and facility-specific policies.
• Travel to various healthcare facilities as required.

Qualifications

• Education: Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• License: ARRT (R) certification required; ARRT (M) preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in mammography preferred.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of breast imaging techniques, patient care, and radiation safety.
• Certifications: BLS required.
• Travel Readiness: Willingness to take on travel assignments.
