Job Title: Radiology Manager
Job Summary:
The Radiology Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the radiology department, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality patient care, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role involves managing staff, developing policies, maintaining equipment, and coordinating with other healthcare departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Department Operations:
Manage and supervise the radiology department’s day-to-day activities.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, policies, and safety protocols.
Maintain accurate records of departmental activities, including patient data, schedules, and reports.
Team Management:
Recruit, train, and manage radiology staff, including technologists and support personnel.
Schedule staff shifts and ensure adequate coverage.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and support.
Quality Assurance and Patient Care:
Ensure the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging services.
Monitor and improve patient satisfaction and safety within the department.
Implement quality assurance programs to maintain equipment and service standards.
Equipment and Technology Management:
Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and replacement of radiology equipment.
Work with vendors to procure and implement new technologies.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs as necessary.
Financial and Budget Management:
Develop and manage the departmental budget.
Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Generate reports for senior management on departmental performance.
Collaboration and Communication:
Liaise with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure seamless patient care.
Collaborate with other departments for strategic planning and resource allocation.
Communicate effectively with staff and patients regarding procedures and updates.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in radiology, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Knowledge of radiology equipment, imaging techniques, and healthcare regulations.
Work Environment:
Fast-paced healthcare setting, such as a hospital or imaging center.
May involve standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of equipment or patients.
