Registered Nurse (RN) – Dialysis

A Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing care to patients undergoing dialysis treatment. The following is a general job description for this role:\n\nDuties and Responsibilities:\n\nAssess and evaluate patient’s condition, including vital signs, fluid and electrolyte balance, and access site for dialysis.\nAdminister medications, including antibiotics and other treatments, as prescribed by physicians.\nMonitor patients during dialysis and assess for adverse reactions, making necessary interventions to ensure patient safety and comfort.\nCollaborate with interdisciplinary team, including physicians, dietitians, and social workers, to provide comprehensive care for patients.\nEducate patients and their families about the dialysis process, treatment options, and self-care management.\nMaintain accurate and complete patient records, including treatment plans and progress notes.\nPerform dialysis machine setup, operation, and maintenance, as well as quality control checks and equipment sterilization.\nRespond to emergencies and implement proper infection control procedures.\nParticipate in quality improvement activities and continuous professional development to enhance nursing practice.\nRequirements:\n\nActive license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice.\nBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or equivalent.\n1-2 years of experience in dialysis nursing or critical care nursing.\nKnowledge of dialysis principles, procedures, and equipment.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.\nStrong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.\nAbility to work independently as well as part of a team.\nThis job description is intended to be a general outline of the responsibilities and requirements for a Dialysis RN.
