Job Description: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER)

Position Overview

Our staffing agency is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional patient care in fast-paced and high-stress environments. The ideal candidate will be adept at critical thinking, quick decision-making, and delivering compassionate care to patients with diverse and urgent medical needs.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care and Assessment

• Perform rapid and thorough assessments of patients presenting to the emergency room.
• Prioritize care based on acuity and manage multiple patients simultaneously.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered by physicians.

Emergency Response and Management

• Respond promptly to life-threatening situations, including trauma, cardiac arrest, and respiratory distress.
• Operate and monitor medical equipment, such as cardiac monitors, ventilators, and IV pumps.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to stabilize critically ill or injured patients.

Documentation and Communication

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals regarding care plans and outcomes.
• Relay critical information to other departments during patient transfers or admissions.

Compliance and Safety

• Adhere to hospital policies, state regulations, and best practices in emergency nursing.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Professional Development and Teamwork

• Stay current with advances in emergency medicine and attend required training sessions.
• Participate in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
• Support and mentor other staff members as needed.

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted RN license in [State].
• Minimum of 2 years of ER nursing experience.
