Surgical Tech – First Assist

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist – First Assist to join our team. In this role, you will provide exceptional surgical support, working directly with surgeons and the operating room team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Your expertise in assisting during surgical procedures and ensuring the sterile integrity of the operating environment will be critical to the success of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

Surgical Assistance: Assist the surgeon during procedures by providing exposure, controlling bleeding, suturing, and other first-assist responsibilities.
Preparation: Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques.
Patient Care: Collaborate with the surgical team to position patients safely and effectively for surgery.
Instrument Handling: Anticipate the needs of the surgeon by passing instruments and supplies during procedures.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of procedures, instruments, and supplies used.
Team Coordination: Work collaboratively with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses, to ensure efficient workflow.
Compliance: Adhere to all hospital, state, and federal guidelines, including infection control and safety protocols.
Qualifications:

Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) and completion of a Surgical First Assist program.
