Exciting opportunity for a seasoned RN specializing in Pre-operative and Post-Operative (Phase II) care, to join one of Madison’s premier healthcare institutions for a 13-week travel assignment at the UW Health East Madison Hospital. Here, your primary responsibilities will include patient preparations for surgery, post-anesthesia recovery, and discharge preparations. Having experience with PACU/Recovery room is key, alongside competencies in pre-op and Phase II post-op RN assistance. Appropriate certifications including a WI or compact nursing license, and BLS from American Heart Association are mandatory. Basic Arrhythmia experience and a passing score in UW Health Telemetry test is also essential. Bursting with engagement, the usual shift involves 40 hours a week, mostly during day/evening with 8/10 hr shifts spaced from 0500 to 2030, majorly weekdays. But bear in mind, on-call responsibility during after-hours covering weeknights and weekends applies too. As per your adventurous spirit, you may be assigned to multiple units and even different locations within the organization depending upon staffing needs. Lastly, candidates must have at least two years of acute care experience within the last three years and experience in an Academic Level 1 – Trauma center or similar-sized hospital. Be warned though, the facility has a strict non-negotiable clause, wherein your permanent address should be outside a 50 mile radius of Madison.
